Recycling: Less is more
Water is life - we care about the planet, because we care about life. That is why we are doing everything we can to make the world a better place by reducing the impact of our activities. We do this by applying and promoting the 3 Rs (Recycle, Reuse and Reduce).
100% recyclable materials
Vital plastic bottles are manufactured with PET (PolyEthylene Terephtalate) which is a 100% recyclable material. Moreover, we have reduced the amount of plastic used in our PET bottles by 14% through light weighting. The Vital bottle can by compacted down to less than half of its original size. We are committed to recycling plastic (PET) and Glass bottles through selected partners in Mauritius. Check in your area for facilities to recycle Vital bottles and help us look after our planet!
Reducing our
carbon footprint
The carbon footprint of a product is defined as the total emission of greenhouse gases linked to a product across its life cycle, from the production to distribution.
At Quality Beverages we have implemented a series of environmentally-conscious initiatives in order to reduce our carbon footprint, which include: reducing the furnace oil consumption in our factory by 10% and therefore releasing less gas impurities into the atmosphere, shifting to the provision of CO2 manufactured from bioethanol which produces 21% less CO2 emissions, and reducing our petrol consumption by 14% through optimization our distribution planning.
Reducing and Reusing
Our Polycarbonate bottles are made to protect the water as they are characterized for having a high impact resistance. Our goal is to Reduce the reject rate of Polycarbonate bottles through the implemention of an improved racking system for their transportation during delivery.
The 10l and 18.9l bottles can be reused
Some of our initiatives include Reusing these water bottles by working with garden centers and schools in Mauritius through the transformation of Polycarbonate bottles into flower pots. Our aim is to reuse 50% of Polycarbonate bottles every year.
